At the age of 19, i was the 1st member of the D&L team, as we welcomed its first clients, I was dedicated to giving a strong professional service with the highest quality. Continuing to learn, teach, advise and help growth within the shop and local community. Trying to in still the D&L ethics of everyone is equal, use your skill to help and bring forth the less fortunate to build a bigger stronger community. I did not go searching for this career, this career found me, realising I was blessed with this talent from an early age I endeavoured to become 1 of the best to ever do it. Not forgetting to use my skills and tallent to help make the next generation of barber become better, greater and masterful at their craft. The day we stop giving, educating and helping to make the ones coming after us better, is the day we have failed being a leader. Constantly seeing what others were doing, making sure i did the same and then added a bit more, just to make sure I stood out from the rest. As my career and reputation grew, I was given the opportunity to cut a few celebrities. From Joe Budden to Ghetts, Jermaine Pennant, Jason derulo, leathal B, dizzee rascal, J Cole, the celebs came thick and fast. Cutting some of the world's hottest rappers, rnb singers and sports stars, still cutting some of those stars today. Being able to stay humble, give advise but also take criticism, I feel I have become one of the best to do it. Every day we learn something new and I look forward to many more years at the head of one of the world's best and leading barbershops.

The London born, Hackney resident became familiar with D&L’s during his teenage years, having attended one of the Barbershops local Secondary schools “St Aloysius College” and much like many shop regulars and former barbers Darron became a pivotal of the D&L team.
Completing his first unassisted haircut at the age of 17, Darron has since honed his skills touring various barbershops from Reading to Archway working with some of the industries top barbers along the way
Probably one of the shops more unorthodox barbers, although Darron and his work efforts seem to be Camera shy, Since his addition to the D&L’s team, when Darron is not debating about football, popular culture or anything that grabs his attention, he is working nonstop to provide some of the best haircuts people have experienced, leaving him as one of the Barbershops most talked about and best kept secret.

Taperren
TaperRen is an 18 year old professional barber based at D&L’s Barber Shop in North London. He began his professional career at just 15 years old, after 2 years of being a runner at D&L’s and receiving encouragement from his dad. “My dad would take me to the barber shop when I was younger and tell me how much of a good career barbering was, and he was right. It’s amazing how much a fresh haircut can boost someone’s confidence. Being able to completely change how a client feels through a haircut is what motivates me.” Training under the mentorship and guidance of SliderCuts, DamonNo1Barber and Barber Darron, some of London’s highly respected barbers, TaperRen quickly became the one to watch as he worked to hone his skill and expertise. From fades to shape ups to patterns, TaperRen is well versed in it all, though his speciality lies in giving taper fades - as his name suggests. “I really enjoy the precision that comes with creating the perfect taper fade. It’s such a smooth, polished style. It’s simple, yet complex at the same time. Teamed with a sharp shape up, it’s definitely one of my favourite styles to do - and clients never leave disappointed.” Drawing inspiration from his mentors and peers, as well as D&L’s Riaze Blade and US barber Wizzy The Barber, TaperRen is just getting started. Only 3 years into his professional career, and having already cut the likes of UK rapper Dizzee Rascal and actor Adam Deacon, as well as models for Burberry’s spring/summer 2019 show during London Fashion Week, he is the epitome of hardwork and dedication. “TaperRen has a great understanding of hair, and picks up things very quickly. He has amazing potential, and the possibilities as to what he can achieve are endless.
